It's doesn't come prebuilt with a wifi connection (I planned to go the ethernet route anyways). So I tried to connect my computer to with an ethernet cable connected to both the modem and the computer. The little notification in the bottom right (on Windows 7) says "Network 4 (and in greyed out italics on the bottom) internet access". It's not my modem because I tried the same thing with my laptop and it works just fine. But on the computer when I try to connect to the internet, (through Google Chrome) it says "Unable to connect to the proxy server" Help?

Solution
The computer is configured to use a proxy server, either in Control Panel or Google Chrome. As the proxy server doesn't exist, the computer can't connect to the Internet.

Here's how to disbale a proxy server through Control Panel:

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Open Internet Options.
3. Click the Connections tab.
4. Click LAN Settings.
5. Disbale the proxy server.

Here's how to disable a proxy server through Google Chrome:

1. Open Chrome settings.
2. Click Show Advanced Settings.
3. under Network, disable the proxy server.
