I also have the same problem. I re-installed the os and drivers, but same problem. Is it my motherboard's problem? Do I need to repair it? Please help..

Can you see if the onboard sound is appearing in the device manager? If it is, then you might just have to go into the sound playback device options and enable it or unmute it. What make is the onboard sound....is there a third party application/control panel that has installed with it?

Check that you have your onboard sound enabled within the BIOS setup. You can usually access the bios setup by pressing F2 during boot.

It may be that this has been disabled. Failing that, you might want to try buying a cheap 5.1 sound card to install into the system.
