Hi, I'm planning to buy a new cpu for my alienware laptop. I've already upgraded the graphics card and would like to upgrade the processor. I am sure you can upgrade almost all of the components on my laptop model. What would be the best processor that has a clock speed of over 3.0 ghz?

Check out this forum, it has all the information you need or want. After doing some looking around for these processors, I can't seem to find them anywhere on ebay or amazon, used or new. The ones I did find, were priced ridiculously high.

I didn't think that the 17 even came with an i5 and that is the only situation that you would need a better cpu for.

any top end i7 you find will be over $400 and that's used on ebay. far from worth it.
