System running: Cpu - i5-4690 k
CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-U9B SE2
Motherboard - Asus Maximus VII Hero
Ram - 8gb corsair vengeance X.M.P.
I am researching a bunch here and there about my new build I have. I installed; Core Temp, CPU-z, and Prime95. Before I changed any values in BIOS, I wanted to leave it at stock and run some stress test's. Within the first 10 minutes, the test's we're being "PASSED!", but my core temps we're averaging 74c, sometimes getting to 80 under 100% load. I am scared to let it continue to run 12 hours like most say to do. Is it safe to even attempt to overclock this? Do I need water cooling?
