I am deciding on these tow CPUS:

i7 4790K:
4 cores/ 8 threads
4-4.4ghz
8mb l3 cache

i7 4960X:
6 cores/12 threads
3.6-4.0 ghz
15mb l3 cache

I heard that Starcraft 2 is an CPU intensive game that requires BOTH fast clock speeds and lots of l3 cache. Which CPU when paired with a GTX 980M (Either the Sager NP9772-S or the Eurocom Panther 5 laptop) will give the most fps? thanks

P.S DO NOT TEL ME TO BUY OF BUILD A DESKTOP THESE TWO LAPTOPS HAVE DESKTOP CPUS AND LAPTOP GRAPHICS.

Bullshit!

My old PC was a quad core 2.8GHz AMD and it ran Starcraft 2 on high settings. If you wanna use a laptop for gaming, then buy one with the most powerful graphics card available. If you think you're special and the rules don't apply to you and you have convinced yourself that somehow the CPU will compensate for terrible laptop graphics, go right ahead - your loss!

Jeez you dont have to curse like that. I also use the laptop for CAD and simulations. Besides, the GTX 980M is the most powerful laptop graphics there is and if you could answer my question, them i might even get that in SLI which has more power than a single GTX 980 DESKTOP GPU!

Neither are that important. The more important thing to consider is architecture, and the processor as a whole.
Both i7s will perform greatly, however the 4960x has more cores for higher threaded applications.

I can sun SC2 ultra on the rig in my signature.
