So recently i've bought a evga gtx 980 classified and i have a backplate coming but it is on back order and I do not have have any idea when it is going to show up. So here is my question ill be build my computer this weekend but since most guys that have test benches dont' run genuine operating systems because changing out parts causes major problems. If I build my system and then remove and then reinstall the GPU to add the backplate will i have any problems? or should i just wait until i have the backplate

I suppose you mean non-activated operating systems? Not entirely true that is causes major problems. For efficiency many use a system image that can be rolled back to a base state at any time. You have to make pretty drastic changes for a re-activation to be necessary.

Your computer doesn't know what you have taken out of it unless you turn it on without it. If you shut down, take out a part, and put it back in before turning it back on, the system will be none the wiser.
