Keyboard Between Mechanical and the Low-Profile Razer keys.

So, as of typing this, my Steel Series Apex has a portion of the back-lit keys broken (as in unlit).

I am looking to get a new keyboard, but I do not want a mechanical keyboard, or the short, low-profile keyboards that Razer has. I do not want a mechanical keyboard because I tend to drag my fingers from one key to the next (lightly), and I always make typos when using one. I do not want the low-profile Razer ones because if I wanted one, then I would've just bought a laptop.

Is there any middle point between the two? My Steel Series Apex is too much like a laptop keyboard for my preference, and I would like something that lasts for more than the 6 months that the Steel Series did.

No middle point between the two. There IS a lower point of membrane keyboards, but they are not for gaming... I have had mine for several years, and I have spilt water, Hot coffee, Ice cream, cake etc and it still works by some miracle of God.. and it's some $5 HP one
