Networking three operation systems on two computers

I have two computers; both are self-builds. One is a dual boot system with Win XP/Win 7. The second is a Win 7 system. I can network the two physical computers fine, but I wanted to connect the network so it sees the three separate operating systems as three computers, rather than the two computers. After spending most of today trying to achieve that end, I'm beginning to think it can't be done. Any solutions, or am I trying to load mercury with a pitchfork?
Since this question appears to be outside the necessity of detailed hardware specifications, I did not provide them.

Thanks very much to both you and G90814 for your responses. By the time I posted my question, I was fairly sure it was a futile endeavor, but heaven knows I've been wrong many times. However, your answers did instigate another thought: I have two adapters on the dual-boot machine. The primary is the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, the other is a VPN Tap-Windows Adapter V9. I don't often use the VPN, but I could set up one of the operating systems on the dual-boot machine to load the VPN on Windows startup and have the Realtek connect with the other — as it's presently configured. Do you think that might work?

Again, many thanks. I'll put my pitchfork away.

It wouldn't make any difference. You can only have one OS active on the dual boot machine at any one time. Setting them to use different adapters wouldn't change anything.

You'd have to use a virtual machine setup to do what you are trying to do. That way you can have 2 or more operating systems active on one machine at the same time. They can all use the same adapter without issues.
