From the release of sandy bridge to ivy bridge to haswell to haswell refresh, little advancement when it comes to performance. Technology was more into power saving. IF you try to...

i kow about the bottleneck at some extent, but if i upgraded my CPU, will it have a reasonable impact to my overall fps ??
and is it wise to change my CPU to I7 4790K ? i have this CPU for awhile now and i think its dragging FPS down on latest games.

i am a season gamer and i planned to play The Division ,Battlefield Hardline and AC: Victory.
My rig right now can run AC:Unity with Ultra setting but i still got fps drops here and there. after checking in some forums i found out that my CPU is a bit "outdated" for latest games. Does it wise to upgrade my CPU to 4790k ? or should i wait for Broadwell ?

From the release of sandy bridge to ivy bridge to haswell to haswell refresh, little advancement when it comes to performance. Technology was more into power saving. IF you try to research, an i5 2500k still competitive with the new i5s. So to answer your question, for me your cpu is still capable for gaming. Wait for broadwell and lets see what it will bring to the table
