Rigger2024 :
My case is a vanquish, vantage mid tower gaming case. . 3 build in fan with high low fan control on the top of the case. . Having trouble because if only has 2 connectors and both of those won't fit any of the fan slots on my motherboard, my mother board had 3 and 4 pin male connection spots but the 2 fan connectionsare square with 2 pins inside ? I can't find any videos online with these 2 connectors ? It also has two other connectors (I think molex) but if I only use the molex cables will that mean I can't use the fan control and the will always just be on full power ? Do I need some kind of adaptor for the 2 connectors or am I missing something ? And also why is there only 2 of eachconectors if there's 3 fans ? And help would be great guys!,
The picture you have linked, plugs into a molex connecter indeed, and it splits the power into 12v and 5volt male lines... I haven't looked at your case, but i suspect that that molex plugged into the the switch, and it would select between running the 12v or 5v on the fans... the fans should plug into the male ends... but again, i haven't checked myself.... Now if you plan on plugging fans directly into the system board, you would NOT be using the switch anyway!!! .. you would want to use the PWM from the system board to control fan speeds!!! .... If you are going directly from fans to system board, should not need that plug at all! As i said, that molex is only splitting into 5 and 12. I don't know what case fans you have, but if your case fans have Molex also, then your almost SOL for plugging into the system board, unless you get 3 pin to molex adaptors. .. the big question is what ends do the 3 case fans have? I'm going to guess by your question, that they are also Molex. In which the simplest case is to go straight from power supply to the fans, ( No you won't have speed control). Otherwise, replace the Fans with good PWM fans, and go straight to system board, and use thermal control for the fans. Thats what I would do anyway. This way you can either manually set the fan speeds, or let cool and quiet do it.. or thermal software.
