Hello,

I've only got a tiny problem here.

I've been thinking about these two cards... what do you think is better and what are their differences?

Asus GTX 980 4GB 256bit DDR5
Asus STRIX GTX980 DC2OC 4GD5 - Cheaper in my country

I don't really know the difference, having only little knowledge about this.

Can someone also explain to me what the meaning of "Strix" is.

It's my first time posting here, so I don't know what to expect
Hopefully I would get an answer soon.

Thanks!

Solution
The first card you list uses the reference blower style cooler. The second card uses the ASUS custom cooler. The Strix card will run cooler and quieter as well as being factory overclocked.

So, the Strix Card is the obvious choice for Gaming? I love it when the better card is cheaper lol. Thanks

Except the reference card is far more elegant.

Looks beautiful, and is more quiet. Dissipates heat better than any other blower-style reference cooler I've seen.

"Strix" from Asus are what was the Direct CUII. It was renamed. I've heard good things about them, but the design for the reference 980 just has far more appeal to many people.
