Hi,
I bought a Wireless Receiver (not the original but a compatible one - it shows XBOX 360 instead of WINDOWS) to play with my XBOX 360 controllers with my PC (a Dell Inspiron 15, 7000 series with native Windows 8.1 and i7 Core). I connected the receiver to a USB 2 and I used the drivers already present in 8.1 (dated 2014) to install it.
When I connect my controller it links to the receiver (with the tipical green light) and start to work for only few minutes, then it stay connected but it doesn't respond anymore.
Is there a way to solve this problem?
(I tried to use older Windows 7 drivers but nothing changed, first it works, then it seems to be connected but nothing heappens, I also tried to change the batteries without success. Help! :( )
Thanks for the attention

Try this

with the disk in my computer:
Go to control panel
View devices and printers
Find at the bottom, either an unidentified device or Xbox 360 controller for windows ( this is the adaptor not the controller, the picture is a white box not the Xbox controller)
Right click, then click properties, go to hardware tab then click properties again
Click change settings and go to driver tab.
Click update driver
Click browse my computer for driver software
Click let me pick from a list of driver devices on my computer
Click have disk and type D:\ where is is already highlighted ( mine sais A:\ before changed )
Then find the driver on the disk
Click next and it should install.
