Is an Xbox One controller supported any less than an Xbox 360 controller?

Hey guys, so my wired Xbox 360 controller has recently been experiencing a strange issue. I guess my right stick that controls the "looks" finally decided to die on me after all of this time. So right now I'm on my way to get a new controller. So I would like to know if an Xbox One controller is supported any less than an Xbox 360 controller if anyone knows? Or maybe it is actually the other way around since it is newer, or is a "controller support" just support for most if not all controllers? So I guess what I'm asking is if there is actually a game that only supports Xbox 360 controller and does not support an Xbox One controller. I use this for PC only, I don't have an Xbox One, and not planning to get one. I don't use my mouse & keyboard because I lost my desk thanks to my huge TV, so I sit on my bed now and it is not always balanced. So if anyone knows, please do tell :)

i use a wired xbox one controller and it has no issues. i do know that the wireless ones are not supported yet but you can use one with the power connector attached for the connection.

i got the xbox one version since i could not find a wired 360 controller and i really wanted a wired one. the microsoft drivers worked no problem on win 7, 8 and 10 so you should have no issues with a shiny new xbox one controller (at least the wired one). i think i paid $30 for mine on sale but they are $40 reg price if i recall right.

as far as i have read and seen, the wireless (bluetooth?) adapter does not work yet but it will run connected with the micro usb controller. here is the mocrosoft page that say this. http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controller-pc-compatibility

"Note For your controller to work with your PC, it needs to be connected using a micro-USB cable. It will not work wirelessly with your PC."

hence the reason i just got a wired one. the micro usb port felt flimsy and i did not expect it to last very long. so rather than messing with it, i just got one wired permanently. as you said, you sit pretty close and the cable is usually pretty long. mine is 9 ft and i have most of it tied up since it is so long :)

i did not buy one so have no experience. i just read there was some issues with the port loosening up and the cable not staying in. now i assume this is from little boys who throw the controller around and such but i did read some reviews saying the port did not seem like it would hold up to long term use with the cable plugged in.

so i chose not to take the risk. if you don't abuse the controller, i assume it will last long enough. but if you are prone to throwing tantrums and the controller, then perhaps a nice wired one would be better :D and cheaper

Well, I can save this for the controller, it feels smaller than the Xbox 360 controller I used, definitely feels weird and different than what I was used to. I do like how the LT and RT feels though, very smooth, makes it feel like it is part of your hand. The sticks has better grips, so that's nice :)
