I have a desktop PC with Windows 7 and over the last few days the internet connection has slowly been going out. The internet is connected and I am able to access simple sites like forums, but Facebook won't even load. It starts to load but then stops after a few seconds. I can still use Skype but am unable to log onto online MMOs like WoW or Diablo.

I had installed an autodesk programme recently and was unsure if it was somehow messing with it so I tried to do a system restore but of course, even though protection is on it didn't create a restore point before installing.

I have done numerous virus and malware scans and have found something. I have done winsock and DNs Flush, it was happening both on Firefox and IE. Firefox kept defaulting my homepage back to yahoo so I removed it in case something was wrong there, was finally able to get chrome downloaded and Chrome is doing the same thing.

The internet is the only issue, and again its only certain websites. I'm actually on my desktop now posting this, so the internet IS working. Chrome if you let it sit long enough will eventually load the page. the TCP/IP is correct. What else could be wrong? I don't want to wipe it just because of something like this because nothing else is affected.
