Can I run the r9 280 without overheating with only 1 back exhaust fan inside my case?

My case can only hold 1 exhaust fan at the back. Is this okay to run mid-high end GPUs like r9 280, r7 260x, gtx 960? If not, are there any other cards that I should consider? I've been told that 1 exhaust fan is enough for these high end cards but I'm still a bit skeptical.

I know buying a new case with good airflow is the better solution but I've never really handled PC hardware and I'm new to all this so I want to avoid buying a new case.

I'd go with the 960. Especially if those AMD cards are reference cooler cards. The problem with your fan system is that although you have a fan sucking hot air out of the case, you have no fans bringing cool air into it. If you're going with a reference cooler amd card I'd consider keeping the side panel off the case, if you see above average temperatures under load.

You shouldn't have issues with the 960 though and it performs relatively the same as the 280

Yes you can. 280X are power hungry but Tahiti chip isnt hot. I do have very good ventilation but my 280X Vapor-X rarely go over 67c.

You can expect somewhat higher temps but nothing to worry about. Its alot better option than 760/960.
