Hi,

I'm building a new PC for myself in China, the reason I mentioned this is because some of the products might seem... Strange to you. lol

So anyway, here's my build:

Chasis: Vision RS300 (strangeness I mentioned earlier)

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-Gaming 3

Processor: E3 1231 V3

Ram: Kingston Fury 8GB (single) (it costs me a bit to upgrade it to 4GBx2 so I'm not sure if I should)

Harddisk: Tigo 120GB SSD (more strangeness. lol)

GPU: GIGABYTE GV-N970WF3-4GD. (I plan to SLI it for 4k gaming as soon as my budget allows it :p)

PSU: OCZ 700W Stealth X stream

I just wanted to make sure with you guys if this build is ok, I've done my research already reading this forum and it was great help. Can't thank you people enough.

Everything looks great, can't say anything about the case and ssd :p. For the gpu, I would get a G1 Gaming version rather than the regular version, because the G1 version is faster. It's worth the extra money. Also, you should get a 1tb hard drive so you have enough space for all the things you'll have in your computer. Just install your games and os on the ssd and put everything else in a hard drive.

I disagree with the G1 version, the WF3OC and the G1 both have the same cooler on them, the G1 just has a back plate and higher factory OC, but all accounts of custom OCing I've seen on both cards has them get up to the same OC levels at the same temp and stability, totally not worth more money just for a back plate. Though the extra rigidity from the back plate in SLI might be worth it if they are going to slot right next to each other, if not, there is no point to it.

I don't plan on overclocking my GPU because my experience with OCing has been miserable to say the least. It's a skill I don't plan on learning anytime soon, so then, would it be a good idea to upgrade the GPU to the G1?

Thanks. I checked the case and ssd already, they're at par with the other equipment :D

Oh and another thing, would the single ram stick effect the performance much, as compared to a pair?

Not noticeably. Unless you will upgrade your ram, I would go with dual sticks. But if you can't afford it, one stick is fine. I run on one stick and I'm a happy camper.

I just thought I should let you know what I did eventually - I went all crazy on the PC and upgraded it even more! Lol

Chasis: DX7 Battleship (still weird, but much better lol)

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-Gaming 7

Processor: E3 1231 V3

Ram: Kingston Fury 16GB 1866 MHZ

Harddisk: Samsung EVO 850 250G

GPU: GIGABYTE GV-N970WF3-4GD. (I still plan to SLI it later :p )

PSU: OCZ 750W ZT Series (I like the modular design)

I just wanted to future proof it :D

All looks good, but I would go with an i7 4790k. The i7 is much better for gaming than the Xeon.

Thanks, but after researching for a few hours I have come to the conclusion the the Xeon won't bottleneck the 970 SLI setup and the setup will be pretty much saturated after that, so why would I wanna spend the extra money on getting an i7, right? And no, I don't like to OC, it's too much of a pain and I never got any results. Lol :p
