Hey all im having a ton of trouble with my new internet service from TWC and i know TWC has some issues but theyre the only ones that provide 100+mb speed here so please dont suggest switching. anyways, i cant port forward ANY ports And many connections to ps4 and pc games are being blocked and ive followed almost every guide i can find for my router/modem (Arris TG1672G). I have also contacted TWC support several times and even their Tier 3 (thats right, step back) tech support had no idea. To be specific i cannot connect to any other players On The Crew on PS4 nor can i host a server on tekkit (minecraft) on my pc even with windows firewall, and my modem/router forewall disabled AS WELL as my PC set as the DMZ host. But its not just games, ive troed port forwarding random ports from other games or whatever and NOTHING opens them. ive tried setting them as tdp udp and both as well as setting that on port triggers and virtual servers tab and both at the same time. I have no idea whay the issue could be now. Ive also tried setting the ps4's ip on the ports as well as my PCs ip and doing the whole static ip crap too. Please if theres anything you guys know of let me know.
thanks!

hmmmm do you have real IP or internal static IP?
DO NOT use DMZ and port forwarding at same time.
So here is the deal. Go to your router->port forwarding/virtual servers, set there your pc/ps4 IP and put a port to it. click save and go here -> http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ It should say that the port is opened
if this still doesnt help then try using VPN

ok lets start from this: static IP means you are identifyed by 1 uniqe IP given to you by the ISP it usualy looks like this 10.20.1.30 (atleast here it have similar numbers)
Real IP is the IP you are given for identification outside the ISP network. you can see your real IP here http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and compare it to the one you assigned to your router. if its not the same you wont be able to forward any port outside the ISP network
what you would need to understand and set VPN -> http://www.pcworld.com/article/210562/how_set_up_vpn_in_windows_7.html

well i went to that site (whatsmyip) and it gave me an ip address.... thats my real ip right? So do i have to talk to TWC and get another one? And then i assign that ip to my router and it should all work? Im sorry to pester you with this but i know next to nothing about networking

UPDATE: So ive been scouring my modem/router settings and i went to WAN settings > Static > Enable Static IP > and i enabled it and this is the page:
Static IP Connection Type
A static IP address connection type is less common than others and uses a permanent IP address to connect to the Internet. If your Internet Service Provider gives you an IP address that never changes, then use this option. For changes to take effect, you must click the Apply button.
Static IP Settings
Enable Static IP
IP Address
Subnet Mask
Gateway Address
Primary DNS Server IP
Secondary DNS Server IP
Tertiary DNS Server IP
Domain Name
MTU Size

and its asking me for all that info and i know most of it but whats the gateway and how do i find it? im assuming for IP it wants the public IP that whatsmyip is showing me right?

You can't set your router for a static public IP address unless you are assigned a static IP by your ISP.

Having a static IP address assigned requires you pay an additional monthly fee to your ISP.

your router allow you to set those because you can get that kind of connection. I will assume you have PPoE connection (i.e username and password to connect to internet) Now you cant just put some numbers there and hope it works
BTW i had similar issue with LoL EUNE server some time ago and it turned out that my ISP firewalls blocked the port

how did you find that out? is there a list TWC puts out of blocked ports?

im just saying its possible that your isp have that port blocked.
Anyways to forward port you only need to go to NAT->virtual servers and put your INTERNAL IP (the one assigned to you by the router i.e 192.168.1.101 and forward the port to it. Have in mind that you have to reserve that IP to the right DHCP client so that no other device can use that IP. If still not working then contact your ISP and ask them if they have this port blocked
