I am currently researching parts for my first build and think I have came to a point where I am ready to order. Before I do so I would like to make sure all parts are compatible. I also would appreciate any advice on parts or other gaming builds lower than current price tag of roughly $860.
Current part list is as follows-

Mobo- Asus m5a99fx pro R2.0 $145
Cpu- Amd fx-8350 black edition $150
Gpu- EVGA Geforce gtx 960 supersc acx2.0+ $210
Ram- Corsair vengeance 8gb(2x4gb) $70
power- Corsair Cx600 $60
hdd- WD blue 1tb $50
Case- Sentey gaming case optimus gs-6000 $60
drive- Asus 24x dvd-rw $22
os- windows 8.1 $90
Again this is my first build and I want to make sure i am not wasting money on incompatible components or unnecessary processing power. i am looking to be able to play new pc releases my current computer can not really play anything newer than 2012ish. thank you in advance

Solution
I would reconfigure this a bit
The parts are all excellent , but you may be able to increase performance for the same money if you change parts .

FX 8320 [ same part just clocked lower , and since you can reset the speed yourself .......]
Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P motherboard . Can only use one graphics card but if you only have one then why pay for the ASUS ?

Those two changes ave you about $90 and wont lower performance in any way .
Spend some of that on an aftermarket cooler . The CM Hyper 212 is about $30
The rest could buy you an SSD drive and make the computer feel much snappier and responsive
