As you can see using Mantle there is a major issue with overlapping images, almost like a mirror reflection problem, and it happens all the time, however if you switch to low graphics settings or medium sometimes it can go away. Using DX11 there is NO such problem. This is clearly a problem with Mantle and I've suffered with it for over a year. What is it? I'm using an MSI R9 290 Gaming card, but the same issue exists on my wifes PC with an R9 270X, so the problem lies with Mantle. It's happened throughout all drivers/beta/official too. Surely others have had this? Or maybe they are playing small TD maps and don't notice it.

Recorded at 1440p resolution and 30fps due to youtube maximum limit of 30fps at 1440p and higher resolutions. Re-encoded at 120,000 kbps x264. I have merged 2 separate files together into the one video. Before I switch to DX11 I obviously quit the game entirely and re-load the game.

Playing small scale maps you cant see or at-least don't have time to notice the problem as there is no massive distances to see like on conquest/large. It cant just be me having the issue with Mantle API.

DX11 maxes out at 2.9 - 3.2GBish Vram with these settings, Mantle maxes out at 3.2 - 3.5GB usually. Textures and distant objects are shown faster using Mantle and a 10% performance increase, but there is clearly a problem with either Mantle API or BF4 use of it. Tried searching for things like Mantle graphics glitches and other lines but nothing like it came up.

Selecting High/medium/low presets this problem doesn't happen, but selecting ultra it does. Even selecting custom and then putting settings to same as what high preset gives triggers the problem. What is it? Also switching to lower resolutions still shows it. There is obviously something triggering it through ultra or custom presets.

This EXACT problem happens with my wifes PC which is almost identical to mine except 1080p and a 270X.

It loads all textures/objects quicker than DX11 whilst using more VRAM to do it most likely with the memory stacking and whatnot but this issue is simply awful and unbearable. I do get 10% boost what DX11 gives but my wife with a 270x gets probably 20% worse than DX11, weird!

I have to say looking at your video i see no trace of any glitches. What you should know is mantle uses more vram than dx11, it might (still) have the memory leak it had when mantle launched for bf4 and since its the first mantle implementation it does have bugs, so yeah - either live with the bugs and get steady fps or just go dx11. Personally i played on mantle just fine but i did have to restart the game every couple of hours because of the memory leak, as far as i know thats been fixed with the omega drivers.

Really? look at the aerial towers from around 25 seconds on-wards up until around 1 minute 30 at 1080p minimum to see it. Iv'e never ever had any other problem with BF4 Mantle for a year but this has bugged me for a while. Do you not see weird movement? compared to mid way through video at 2 mins 30 when i merged video with the DX11 version which doesn't have the problem. It looks like transparent glass overlapping itself.

Now that you pointed it out i see it. You really went deep finding it tho :) Try to disable FXAA or change post processing settings- this looks like a post processing glitch. If this is the only bug you're seeing in BF4 then consider yourself lucky. I;ve had shadows glitching all over the place even well after the game launch on an r9 280x, on my old gtx 460 the game was a bug fest on launch so yeah, what you're experiencing is nothing compared to how the game was running in the past.

Iv'e rarely encountered a problem in over a year of playing but Mantle gives that strange problem. I have anti aliasing post off, having it low/medium/high makes no difference. It would be thick to enable post which is like FXAA when your using MSAA. The problem lies with a trigger of some kind. If you select high medium or low preset it doesn't have the problem. Enable ultra preset or custom (even if you put all sections to what high gives you) triggers the fault.

No, they always save correct. Removing documents folder and not using a custom config makes no difference. AMD on facebook say it must be a UI bug in BF4 and it's down to EA/Dice to fix it as Mantle is only a small thin driver and isn't at fault "apparently".
