I recently upgraded from a gen3 mobo same time I upgraded from a 65xx series had little to no problems with windows 7 on my machine but now I can't get the display driver working figured I'd post this while I'm @ work see if anyone else felt with this.
I have disabled igpu so the only active display is my gpu
I get good boot and HDMI works but the driver is marked with caution.
GPU tweak also won't run said I need VGA drivers that I am pretty sure I have installed

seeing as you've changed hardware, best things to try first are:

Remove the R9 290 from the system and test the onboard graphics

If that works:
1. make sure your PSU is powerful enough for the new GPU
2. make sure all mobo/psu/gpu connections are plugged in correctly
3. try a different pcie slot
4. try setting default video in bios to pcie
5. make sure all drivers and bios are up to date for new mobo
6. complete uninstall of GPU drivers
7. download latest drivers for the 290 and install them

If still no joy and you've still got the old GPU, try it and see if it works

If it does, then the new GPU might be faulty

If the old one doesn't work either, might be a faulty mobo

OK so I got everything worked ng with old drivers but whe n I updated to the new 14.12 beta drivers it black screened me I'm sure j can fix this but I think if I try this driver again it will black screen me again
