Hello. I just want to know which combo is better for gaming i5 4590 with gtx 970 or fx 8350 with gtx 970. Aslo i want to know in wich combo i5 4590 gtx 970 or fx 8350 gtx 970 will i get more fps on ultra 1080p in resident evil revelations. Pls help me

If gaming is your thing always go with an i5 and Intel. What board do you have in mind?

For gaming the i5 4590 beats the fx 8350 9 times out of 10.

for gaming the Intel will yield better results, but if you are an overclocker then you will want a k series Intel, if not then this is good.

i5 + gtx970. The AM3+ socket is dead in the water, so no upgrade path anymore. The z97 chipset for the i5/i7 4000 series will also support the upcoming broadwell chips. The Intel will be faster in CPU dependent games, and in games that can only use 2/4 cores. In some cases it will even beat the FX when more than 4 cores are being used as well, since the Intel chips have much higher per core performance. Hope this helps.

Get a i5 4460 (if not overclocking) or 4690k (if overclocking). Those other i5's in the middle isnt really worth it.

The i5 4460 only boosts to 3.4ghz, and the non-k i5 4690 boosts to 4.0ghz. I think that the i5 4690 is better for a person that does not want to overclock personally. It opens up more power for future video cards that may need it, and for running SLI/Xfire with less chance of a CPU bottleneck. Then games that are highly CPU dependent would also run a fair amount faster with the extra 600mhz as well. Just my opinion, and I just wanted to throw that out there.

Revelations 2 isnt heavy. It will easily push 120fps+ maxed.

You should be higher than his results. The CPU and Video card you have picked are both better/faster than his setup. I would guess that you should be about 15-25% faster.

PS: He is most likely using V-sync if he's only getting 60FPS as well. If he turned the V-sync off he would get much higher results than 60FPS.

i5. AMD is two generations behind, unfortunately, because this means intel's only competition is in-house for resources between business, general consumer, gamer and enthusiast class production groups. Not good for us.

Revelations 2 isn't even slightly cpu-heavy - its locked to 60fps by default.
Unlocked I've hit 180fps+ on a fx6300+gtx970.
