Does anyone know of a Flex ATX form factor power supply with a single 12v rail? Or, can you recommend one to go with a motherboard-powered low profile video card that requires a 400 watt PSU?

The best I have found have multiple rails, making me wonder if they will really have enough power on the motherboard rail to also handle the video card.

Thanks.

Interesting and that makes sense. However, the specs on several (most) low profile cards that do not have a supplemental power connector say things like "Requires a 400 watt or greater power supply." The one I am looking at is:

Thanks for any advice or info on this.

The thing with PSU is, there are some "Ultra mega stupendous 400W Gold++" brands in market which label their PSUs like that and then people yell over the GPU manufacturers when their rigs light up after a new GPU is installed. To avoid that, manufacturers usually hike up the PSU wattage.

And wattage is not important anyways, Amperage is. R7 250 is a 65W card, and the card requires less than 6 Amps for itself, a decent 300W PSU can run the rig with ease. When selecting a PSU, it is the Amperage on 12V line that matters the most. The particular GPU in question will be powered by the PCIe connection and if you have a decent 300W PSU, you don't need to get a new one. But what specific PSU do you have? Or which ones are you looking at?

Look at the PSU tier list linked in my signature.
