If my primary hard drive (c:/ drive) is going bad (files randomly disappearing), does that affect the accuracy of copying & pasting files (Microsoft office documents) between 2 different USB flash drives? Since I don’t get any errors, is it okay to assume that everything is being copied perfectly?

Doesn’t data get copied directly into RAM, and then pasted directly to USB drive without it touching the hard drive?

(I have 2GB of RAM and Windows XP)
