i just upgraded my internet and still no download speed change...

i just upgraded from a 50mbps package to a 126 mbps package and yet my download speed still varies between 200kbps and 600kbps, any solutions to what this problem might be? i dont even get 1mbps and im not wireless im direct

Start simple. Bad cable -- change to a brand new cable. Verify the port speed on both ends of the wire. To get 100+Mbit you need gigabit ports at each end of the cable.

if you were on 50mbps before there is no way you should be getting 200-600kbps, it should've been between 5-6MB, there was something wrong even before you upgraded.

What's your computer configuration, what brand and model router do you have ?
You also have to consider what you are downloading. Some servers has limits because bandwith cost $$$$

Also make sure your cable modem is fast enough.

Do you have more then one computer?

I would check its speed and I would setup a network share and see what speed you can transfer files over Ethernet.
