OK- so I am not Tech savvy at all when it comes to Wifi. Can someone answer this for me . . .
I do not have WiFi at home (GASP) but have DSL. I have read about the Apple Airport Express and from what my feeble mind has deduced is: I can connect my DSL Ethernet cable to the apple device and create a WiFi connection? and the whole family can use it (it said up to 10 users)? Apple products as well as others?
Do I understand this correctly?

Solution
Yes, you understand it correctly.

Instead of your DSL modem connecting to just one computer, you connect the Apple Airport (or any other home router) to the modem and it gives you a home wireless network, as well as ports to connect more computers with ethernet cables.

Agreed. You can get the same performance for much less.

Apple Airport are more like $200 :)

What is your budget?

Here's a list filtered by price and recommended brands. Price range is $200 or less, but not sorted by price.:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx

Any of the first 3 items listed would probably work well for you, and they are 3 different price points. The ones in the list with the little PC Magazine Readers Choice award ribbon are definitely recommended (like the 2nd one in the list, there are more if you scroll down).

Apple Airport Express is $99. at the Apple store. Don't know where your seeing it for $200. but that's a rip off. Since I was told I could do just as well for less, than I guess I was looking around $80-90 range at most.

[strike]If it's only $99 then that is a good price. I was going off what I saw it going for on newegg.com, of course they may not be the same model.[/strike] For some reason I was thinking Airport Extreme (as was the other poster who responded, I think).

The 'EXPRESS' is more of a travel modem. Limited range, limited connections. Something you'd use in a hotel room or small apartment. Not for a full sized house.

You'd be better off with a regular router from the link I gave you previously.

Thanks for your help! Also, Are those all routers that you need to use with existing WiFi or can I plug my DSL Ethernet cable into it and create a WiFi option?

You just plug them into your DSL modem and you're good to go. It's a very standard setup. All explained in the setup instructions.

Some routers are combo modem/router, you should avoid those unless specifically supported by your internet provider.
