Hello! This will be my first computer build and I want to build a 300-400 Gaming PC that can play light games like vanilla Skyrim, CS:GO, Battlefield at 720p
I already have a GTS 250 GPU and a 500 watt Power supply and the hardrive.
Thanks In advanced
What I already have
GPU
Hardrive
OS
PSU.
What I need:
CPU
Motherboard
CASE (Maybe but include one)
RAM.
NOTE: THIS HAS TO BE FROM CANADIEN RETAILERS AND YOU CAN PICK THE OPTION FOR IT ON PC PART PICKER. Thanks in advanced again: Jonathan.

Solution
Intel can be considered more future proof but not if you're buying a used first gen i7 processor as you would need a socket that is no longer supported by modern Intel processors. So that is just as future proof as the AMD route, so not at all. If you're thinking future proof, then you would consider the G3258/i3 Haswell 4xxx CPU with a H97/Z97 motherboard.

The prices for PC components are too high for Canada to get anything decent out of it. This is the least I can do:

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($58.98 @ Newegg Canada)

It will be very good for 720p, but It's lacking 4GB RAM.

Since when are Battlefield and Skyrim light games?!

I'm sorry, but your graphics card is not good enough. In the build I listed it, the A10 has an onboard graphics card that is very capable of running games well at 720p, much better than what you have. If that's the case though, I can suggest those 3 components for 300-400 dollars and you'll be fine.

I do not need a gpu. I will worry about the GPU after I make my build. The only computer parts I need are the:
CPU
Motherboard
Ram
300 dollars for those things are more than enought for me.

I suggest for a 400 dolar build you could go with a first gen i7 you could pick one up of ebay with a motherboard for under 100 for example a i7 920 , first gen will still hold up in every game right now and for a while personally I have a i7 965 overclocked to 4.0ghz with a GTX 690 and i mostly play arma 3 dayz on all ultra ecx so that gives you an idea on performance. For the GPU It would be wise to go with either a gtx 750 ti a r9 270x a gtx 670 if you can find one on ebay for around 150 dollars so if you ok with having a used GPU that the way to go. dont thats stupid I would advise getting 8 gb of corsair veng you can pick that up for around £50 so thats really all u need try and find a good mobo combo for cheap and your sorted

Look, an APU does have limitations. At 720p, It's fine for now. How long it will last that way? Hopefully 2 years atleast. These are the components you would aim for:

CPU: AMD A10-7700K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($147.18 @ DirectCanada)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($79.72 @ DirectCanada)

As Theroscoe said, you can find some good used deals on the web. You will find better components but obviously the con is that they're used.

Thats Actually a great idea! I'm thinking more of the I5 side tho And I can get the r9 270x for 120 so if you can find me a link for the motherboard and the I5 that would be perfect. Thanks!

Im not sure if you still need this but I was wondering why you wanted to go with the i5 route, also as for first gen i7 not being future proof well maybe
but its still by far the best performance for power. My answer to future proofing is overclocking personally I have a 4.0ghz overclock on air and my CPU can still keep up with my GTX 690 so im sure if you get a nice cooler you wouldnt have to worry about that, I just did a quick search on ebay found a 920 for £25 and a motherboard for £40 ill link but im sure you could even get a 980/70 for around the same price if you tried.

I7 920 £25

I7 950 slightly better performance and overclocking £45

hope this helps
