i5 4670k VS I7 3770

Hi guys! I wan to upgrade my brother's build and I saw a couple used parts, my 2 big choices are at the same price.
i7 3770(non k)+z77x ud3h
i5 4670k+asus maximus vi hero
both for 300.00USD Wich one should I get for gaming?

Well, games are using 2-4 cores so higher clocked CPU wins. HT on 3770 isnt gonna help in gaming. I would say get a 4670k + VI hero + 212 EVo and overclock that sucka to 4.5ghz.

For gaming? I5, no questions asked, as you can easily overclock it, just make sure to get a good cooler.
I7 for multithreaded apps, and lots of multi-tasking.

Really? I thought the i7 3770 would win... I mean it's older but it has Hyperthread. anyway I think I'd grab the i5

Yeah, i5, but if it was me, I'd get a Z97 instead (Hero VII). Or, get a cheaper Z97, it will be better for any future upgrades than a Z87 board.
