does a case fan act as an intake and exhaust?

i was wondering by turning a fan either way can i turn it from an intake to an exhaust vise versa. need to know before i purchase extra fans for my case

You sure can. About 75% of the time a fan will have two directional arrows on the edge of the fan body. If they don't have that, you can always look at it this way;

If you want the fans to blow air towards the rear of the case or out of the case, the open blade side face opposite. If you want a fan in front of the case acting as an intake fan, simple keep the open blade side toward the front of your case. THE SIDE of the fan that has the wiring/4 cross like bracket, 99.99% of the time it blows the air that way. Open blade side 99.99% of the time sucks air.
They are mono directional, meaning they blow a single direction. Flip the fan and the direction switches. (There are arrows regarding the airflow on the fans)
What case do you have/or planning to get? You may want some more fans, but fans can be used as either.

i just got the phantom 410 today and im losing 2 fan from changing the case, so its slightly warmer than before. i need new ones because my old ones are getting abit tatty. i am going to buy some extra ones tomorrow to get a good air flow going. thanks for the reply!
