Regarding knowledge, budget and access to parts, when did you know you were ready to build your PC?

I've wanted to build my own desktop for years now but I still think I have a lot more to learn. Every time I think I'm ready to start getting parts to start building I learn something new and get discouraged. There's always some else I have to learn so when do I know I'm ready to purchase my parts and start building?

TLDR: When did you know you were ready to start building and what are the essential things that anyone building a PC should know?

Solution
The hardest part is picking out a compatible parts list for your use case.
The when is when you have the funds to buy those parts.
The how is easy. LEGO for adults.

it would be wise to wait until you have someone experienced guiding you irl. most of the hardware clicks together easily if you pick compatible parts. it's the software dept where most ppl get lost (entering bios, boot priority, os, drivers, network setup).
