HI, MY DEVICE SHOWS UP IN DEVICE MANAGER & DISK MANGEMENT.BUT iN DISK MANAGEMENT ,THE DISK PARTITION SHOWS DISK1 UNKNOWN NOT INITIALIZED. I TRIED TO UPDATE DRIVER AND IT SHOWS UP TO DATE INFORMATION.WHEN I USED DLGDIAG FOR WINDOWS FROM WESTERN DIGITAL ,IT SHOWS PASS RESULT IN QUICK N EXTENDED SCAN BUT IN WRITE ZERO,IT SAYS DELETE PARTITION ERROR N STOPS. I FOLLOWED ALL THE SUGGESTIONS GIVEN IN THE FORUM BUT COULDN'T SUCCEED. I EVEN TRIED CHANGING CABLES.CAN U PLZ HELP ME WITH THIS.

Sorry to see you struggle with your WD hard drive.
I believe you'd need to initialize it first, then partition and format it in order to use it.
