Hi Have a z97 extreme6 asrock MOBO which has 2 lans which is the faster one? for gaming

they are both the same speed (on paper) which is 1 gigabyte/sec. so your speed should be the same no matter which you use. [/quotemsg]

yes i know on paper 1 gigabit but in real world an intel product can take total different route to get from a-b but get there just the same as the other. Plus drivers are involved and one might fair better plus since the z97 are short on lanes there might be something there i dont know. Why i need help from a real super smart person familiar with this tech.

ok i see what you are asking. not really faster spec wise but rather in real world. i assume you are gaming online and wonder abut lag and such caused by the port.

unless your connection is the full 1 GB, then i don't think you will see much difference. even a 100 MB line only uses 10% of the connection (which would be a high end connection in the US). any issues that may show up would show near max usage and such small amounts of the port being used should not show the limitations it may have. i doubt you would see any difference in either port.

but to try to answer you question, i believe the realtek drivers have less issues. never had problems with either myself but reading reviews, i have seen more intel driver issues than realtek ones. that's about all i have noticed between the 2.
