Are there any things I've left out or stuff that would be good to add to this list?

Harddrive will just be a 1tb one and a SSD card
CPU:
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core
CPU coolant:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM
Moboard:
ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 ATX AM3+
Ram:
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
GPU:
Sapphire Radeon R9 280 3GB Dual-X
Power supply:
Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze
Case:
Are all kinds of cases compatible with any motherboards out there, or will I have to handpick a specific size of case?

Solution
You can pick any case according to your budget, just make sure it can fit ATX motherboards. You can also do a little better on the PSU department, if possible.

Thank you for the input with the necessity of having an ATX compatible case.

By better PSU do you think it should be around 800W?
I'm assuming from your answer that you think the build I posted is pretty much compatible with the exception that you pointed out.

You could perfectly build it with that PSU, you can use this power calculator so you can double check the one you have now will suffice:

http://powersupplycalculator.net/

The idea though would be that you have some power to spare for when you want to upgrade your videocard for example, or add another hard drive. Any 650-750w Gold standard would do, the brand would be a matter of your preference and budget. I've read good stuff about the EVGA PSUs, *just make sure it's a G2* one, like this:

EVGA's 10 year warranty period is unmatched but there are a few other good brands out there, Seasonic, Silverstone, Corsair themselves, .
