i have a dell xp professional 1-2cpu,it comes on runs,&i here windows pop up but,nothing appears on monitor also has sound when working key board.?what possibly could be the problem

You forgot to switch your monitor on, your monitor is broken, the cable connecting it to the PC is broken, You have it plugged in the wrong connector, the GPU is broken, the motherboard is broken,
