Using HDD on different Motherboards

I currently have a Gigabyte motherboard that is an ATX AMD motherboard with a FX-8350. My PSU blew out 3 times already and I heard that it can really mess up the motherboard but my motherboard seems to be alright as if my PSU never blew out. Either way, I feel like it's damaged in some kind of way maybe and I just want to upgrade my whole set-up completely anyways. So, I'm actually planning on buying an Asus Sabertooth Z97 mark 1 with an intel CPU.

I'm wondering.... Even though I used my HDD for my Gigabyte motherboard to begin with, will it still work fine with a completely different motherboard? Do I have to buy a new one?

Hi there Michael Salgado,

The HDD should work fine. You need to make a clean OS install though. Just don't expect to attach the HDD and boot your old OS on a completely different MOBO. :)
