I have a PERC 5/i raid controller with 4 73GB Seagate 15k Cheetah hdd. I am currently running all of them in a single array in a raid 5 configuration. So everything on my computer is on this virtual drive; my c drive is this drive. And this is the only virtual drive I use on the controller.
I want to replace all the drives with 4 120GB SATA ssd's, but still in the same configuration as I have now (raid 5 with 4 drives). I am trying to figure out how to do this with out loss of data. What is the best way to do this?
By the way, my reasoning for switching the drives is simply to reduce noise; those 15k drives are like having a swarm of bees sitting next to you...
