Why can't I play planetside 2 and farcry 4 on medium/high without unstable fps and fps drops

Hello,I have the following system:

Intel i5 2400
Asus GTX660
8GB 1666mhz RAM

And I think I should be getting better results especially when playing planetside 2

Both CPU and GPU are kinda outdated for new games like Far Cry 4. Getting a better GPU might be a quick fix, but your CPU will still slow down the GPU a little.

I agree with you but I should be able to play planetside 2 better at least as high settings.My gpu is preowned and I can't buy a new one or a cpu unfortunately

Really? im running planetside 2 on my old phenom2 840T, and a gt 610! on 900p low settings. Far Cry 4, I cant be sure about your specs, im running it on the g3258 and r9 280, and run it ultra averaging 45-50 fps, which is plenty for me. That game is more gpu bound, but 4 core i5 2400 should easily beat out g3258 in newer games.

That i5 should eat both those games easy, and gpu should be plenty for easy 60 FPS in both high or medium/high settings

I play league of legends but it barely had drops.I played sims 4 for a while and it rarely had drops too.Idk if something is not configured the way it should be,the gpu drivers are up to date...

Could be driver issues or heat problems

For planetside 2 i also suggest resetting .ini settings, and be sure to do clean install of the latest patch.
