I think most people would agree with the idea that Asus is king. They are the leading manufacturer. As for why I ranked MSI lower, I have had personally experience fixing/troubleshooting all these brands except asrock. MSI was the worst experience. They had a lack of tools and updates on their websites for known bios issues. I had to track down a third party bios someone modded, and a third party tool to update with. It was a bit of an older board (p67 chipset) but that isn't old enough that they shouldn't have any bios update tools that work.

As for Graphics cards, I like asus and gigabyte the most. I say stay away from XFX, same kind of reasons. Go to their website and see they have no tools or bios updates, and sometimes...

For motherboards, read this. For Intel, my pick would probably be the MSI Z97 Gaming 5. The Z97 Extreme4 would be a close 2nd. For an FX 8350, the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 is a good choice. Another less expensive option is the MSI 970 gaming. THG never bothered with reviewing 970 boards, apparently. Considering the only 2 worth getting are the MSI 970 gaming and the Gigabyte 970a-UD3P, I am not surprised by this fact.

You asked for opinions, these are mine.
