Hello
im going to build a rig in the phantek ethoo pro and I have 40$ left in my budget for case fans. Which ones should I get, how many and where should place them. Noise is a quite important aspect to me! I have considered 4x corsair air series SP120 quiet edition but I don’t know if it’s the right choice.

Solution
Here is the info for the pc cooling. http://www.extremetech.com/computing/128313-extremetechs-guide-to-air-cooling-your-pc
1)The positive pressure configuration, the CFM from intake fans exceeds the CFM of the exhaust fans.
Average cooling performance, less dust etc.
2)The negative pressure configuration, the CFM from the exhaust fans exceeds the CFM of the intake fans, creating a partial vacuum inside the case.
Good cooling performance, but more dust, etc.

Because you said "Noise is a quite important", and the case comes with 1x200mm ( front) and 1x140mm (rear), so you may just put one (corsair air series SP120 quiet edition) on the top for exhaust. That maybe the negative pressure configuration, 1x120mm + 1x140mm for exhaust, and...

Basic placement is front:air in, back: out, top: out, bottom :in, side : in/out. A good air flow case could have 1/2 in front, 1 back, 1/2 top, and a means to control the speed with the MB or controller. Cougar is making some nice fans at a good price now days.

its 82 for the 140mm and 110 for the 200mm.
so just to you are saying 1x120mm in the top for exhaust in addition to the original config?
where would you put any other fans?

Yes, the 120m + the original config.
If you want add more fans, then two (corsair air series SP120 ) for front (intake) and remove the 200mm, two (corsair air series SP120 ) on the top (exhaust), but the 120mm (top) + the original config will be enough.
