does upgrading from 1600 to 1866 make that much of a difference for gaming? I hear it makes your system run hotter just for a 1-5 more fps increase, maybe not but I will look more into it, thank you. Also, still taking any other opinions from others :)

yeah I was thinking of getting an SSD, I will either get one when I buy all the parts or I will just wait to save money, and I am not going to be over clocking. thank you for the help guys!

Sounds good. Have fun with your new PC :)

Generally speaking perhaps a few FPS would be it in gaming, but any increase in DRAM performance is an overall increase system performance with anything you do, not just gaming. IMHO anyone building a rig today should look beyond 1600, every little but helps. No, there is no credible thermal difference and it will not make your system run hotter, where did you hear that? Actually heat spreaders in this speed range and voltage are not even necessary, they look cool and people like the pretty colors though :)

I agree with Pizza though, an SSD would really be the way to go as no new rig should be without one now days. You can pick them up pretty cheap now and are the best single overall jump one component can make to speed thing up. Something in the 120GB range is nice for the OS and a few games you play a lot plus often used apps, use the HDD for data storage.

These are good drives for the money.

Here's the TomsHardware review of the 970 with some benchmarks which should give you an idea of what the card should be able to manage: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-970-maxwell,3941-7.html

It should be fine with Dying Light and The Evil Within - it is one of the best cards on the market currently IMHO

the 970 is a great card and rocks at 1080p, should be able to pretty much max everything out with good FPS. DL review just posted today here, the 970 doing 52 FPS on ultra high 1080p with it.

ok cool thanks guys! I forget where I heard that it makes it hotter, but it was a forum page so most likely they are wrong, I switched to the RAM you posted, and I might not get an SSD right away since I am not sure how they really work, I will look more into them then I will decide if I will get one. And thank you for informing me how the 970 can run and for the benchmark link, that is a huge help! You both helped me out a lot so I am not sure if it is right to choose a best answer, thanks a lot guys!
