Hi, everyone -

I replaced my old ram with these two 16GB DDR3 Sticks and if I understand correctly they should running at 1600mhz.

Instead when I check in my BIOS they're running at 1333mhz and there's not a way to change the frequency manually.

Does anyone know if this is a problem? The voltage is correct (1.5v). The motherboard I'm using is a gigabyte z77x-ud5h, I tried taking the battery out and letting it sit, I've tried resetting the bios manually, and most recently I've updated the bios to the latest available on the website.

Everything seems to be running fine, just noticed the frequency was off. Thanks for the help!

You can change it by changing system memory multiplier under advanced frequency settings, the new frequency will appear on the right of your current frequency.

EDIT: ^^^ That works too.

XMP is the Xtreme memory profile, in essence memory overclocking

1. First try and just enable XMP Memory profile, instructions are in your MoBo manual.

2. If that gives problems, do it manually, using the settings on the RAM package or Data Sheet

3. Be aware that XMP is in now way limited to 1.5 volts. When DDr3-1600 first came out, almost all of it was 1.65 volts.... as production lines improved, this dropped to 1.50 and even 1.25. Again, your package and Data Sheet will indicate the target voltage at stock settings.... if overclocking CPU, you will need to go higher.

See the PDF / Excel file on the Intel XMP site for certified acceptable voltages as officially certified by Intel

I've got the same problem with a z77N WI-FI mobo running a core i5 3570K and16 GB ddr3 PC1600 RAM, enabling XMP only allows me to choose 'profile 1' which does nothing to the speed. It also lets me change the multiplier from 13 to 16, but there is no change in the 1333 mHz speed, as confirmed with CPU-Z. Tech support for the MOBO claims XMP fix will work, but it doesn't work in my case.
