Seagate nas drive and windows 7

I'm ready to trash this Seagate NAS drive, it continues to grind windows 7 to a halt while my samsung phone finds it effortlessly. Seagate and Microsoft both seem incompetent at developing a driver. Has anyone found an alternative?

A NAS requires no driver on the PC. What is the model number? Are you sure it's a NAS and not a DAS?
