What are my best choices for upgrading the gaming performance on my pc?

I am currently running:

-Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
-Intel Core2 Duo CPU E8500@3.16GHz
-Win 7 Home 64-bit operating system
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
-DDR2 2048 PC2-6400 (x2)
DDR2 1024 PC2-5300 (x2)
-Western Digital Blue WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s (x2)
-BFG GX Series BFGR550WGXPSU GX-550 Power Supply - ATX, Modular, 550 Watts

Thanks MasterDell! I kind of had the same feeling, but I wanted to dip into the well of knowledge to see if there was an easy upgrade.
 
The CPU would be an easy upgrade but not necessarily a "wise" upgrade. Not a bad one either but it doesn't make sense to be spending $130 on a CPU when the system isn't worth that much more. If you are on a tight budget you could but something like a used GTX 580 and put it in this system:

GPU could be bought off of craigslist for like $80, case can be reused, same story with the HDD and OS.

And if you want you could just use your current GPU and if you aren't happy with the performance then buy a better GPU. It's worth a shot IMHO.


 
No problem :) if the system seems a little sluggish when you buy it, it's because the of HDD. The gaming performance won't change, just other things won't feel as snappy. And if you have a higher budget, need help when building that build, or anything else, let me know :)
