Hi, I have two computers connected to a gigabit switch for internet access. Is it possible to link the two computers together to shares files and data with the switch?
One computer is running Windows 8 and the other Windows 7. Thank you.
You can enable file sharing on the computers which will then allow each computer to have a folder that is visible on the network. Kind of like drop box but only on your local network.

Thank you for your reply
I enabled file sharing on both computers but nothing happened. So I followed a guide here on creating homegroups. But there isn't anything for the PCs to link. And neither computer has a Join button like the guide says it should so I still can't see anything on the other computer.
Is there something I need to do to make a network? What I did was just connect the switch to the router, and plug the cables from my PCs into the switch (according to another guide). The switch seems to be working fine as both PCs have Internet. I just don't know if they have network.
