I am currently in the process of a new PC build and am interested in doing a dual boot with windows 7 & 8.
Something I can't seem to find a clear answer to is: Does each OS have its own separate file system or do will they share one? And if I install a program on one OS will it work on the other OS too? Or do you have to install programs on each OS separately?
I expect the answer to be no. That the two OS's will be independence with their own programs having to be installed but that they can maybe get into each others files when desired (to read music/audio files for example).
I am hoping that when I boot Win 8 it will be as if I have just updated my Win 7 with all my files and apps in tact, but can switch back to 7 when I want to.
Wish I could explain myself a little more coherently. If someone could give me a little help/advice/explanation I would very much appreciate it. Thanks
