Matching Memory to Motherboard and Intel CPU

Can someone explain how to pick the correct memory for a motherboard and CPU?

For instance, if I were to purchase an Asus X99-DELUXE motherboard and an Intel Core i7-5960X CPU what is the correct DDR4 memory?

On the Asus X99-Deluxe product page (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132260) it says the following memory is compatible with the board: "DDR4 3200(O.C.) / 3000(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2400(O.C.) / 2133 MHz"; but on the product page for the Intel CPU (http://ark.intel.com/products/82930/Intel-Core-i7-5960X-Processor-Extreme-Edition-20M-Cache-up-to-3_50-GHz) it says this product uses the following memory: "DDR4 1333/1600/2133."

I'm confused because the only number that matches between the Asus motherboard and Intel CPU is 2133 which if I understand correctly is the speed. I want to use this computer to run CAD, graphic design, moderate level 3D modeling, and flight simulator (X-Plane) software. I will also use it for the Microsoft Office.

I am sure this is a question that many people would like to see answered. I am hoping someone would be so kind and help me.

"DDR4 1333/1600/2133."......these are the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) timing profiles from Intel for the memory controller in that CPU
"DDR4 3200(O.C.) / 3000(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2400(O.C.) / 2133 MHz".......these are the XMP (Intel Extreme Memory Profile) timing profiles on the DRAM that the MB supports.

So you may use any DDR4 from 2133 to 3200 you wish to. What ever speed you put in there will default to 2133 because that is the JEDEC setting. You will then need to change the memory...

You will then need to change the memory timing in the BIOS to the XMP settings to enable them to run at the labeled speed. If you use 2133 you will not have to do anything except plug them in.
