What motherboard should I choose for gaming?

Would an H81 or H87 motherboard be good for high end gaming with the core i5 4590 and a gtx 960 . And will you experience lag with one of these two bords or not

It seems like it's pci 2 and the 960 is pci 3 ....... would it be compatible with eachother?
