Setting up new PC with SSD for OS and HDD for storage. Am I doing this right?

HI, all. I just built a PC with an SSD and a hard drive. I installed windows on the SSD, installed all my drivers, my antivirus, and Google Chrome onto that. I configured my HDD, created a system image of my SSD and saved it to the HDD. Now, because my SSD is pretty small (120 GB), I want to use the HDD for pretty much everything else (documents, pictures, steam games, etc.).

I went into my user folder and went into properties for contacts, desktop files, documents, downloads, music, pictures, saved games, and videos to change the location of those folders to my hard drive. So just to clarify, this will make my hard drive the default save location for these types of files, right?

Secondly, am I supposed to install steam onto my hard drive in order to install all games onto my hard drive and not onto my SSD? Or should I install steam onto my SSD and make sure to install the games to my HDD.

I just don't want all my steam games to fill up my SSD.

Thanks for your help.
