Pcie 2.0 mobo compatible with pcie 3.0 graphics card

Hi can someone verify this. Im planning to replace my old graphics card. But im not sure if my mobo p8p67 pro compatible with radeon r9 270x because its pcie 3.0. I dont want to waste some cash for hardware that i cant use.

PCI-E is absolutely backwards compatible. It will work fine.

Yeah. All PCIE revisions are compatible with each other.

No matter what people say, PCIE 2.0 is not and never was a bottleneck. I don't know of any current gaming cards that really stress it too much. I have PCIE 3.0, and there is no noticeable difference when I was using a 2700k.

I'm not sure who says that but they are indeed misinformed as reviews keep proving.

There is very little to no difference except in a few specific cases between PCI-E slot generations. Well between 2.0 and 3.0. 1.1 does suffer a bit.

Yes there backwards compatible. I'm using a GTX 650 PCI-E 2.0 on a 3.0 slot, and 0 issues

I've used my 980 in both PCIE 2.0 and 3.0. The performance is identical as far as I can tell.

It is backwards and forwards compatible. Even today's graphics cards haven't even maxed out the bandwidth provided by PCIE 2.0 16x. You will not have any problems.
