I have bought a new motherboard for my son. We've swapped everything over, but nothing is happening when we try and turn it on, all we are getting is a green light on the motherboard. The fans aren't starting or anything, just absolute silence.

I've downloaded the motherboard manual and checked the pin set up is correct, which it is.

The system is as follows

Motherboard msi z77a-gd55
Processor Intel i3
Memory 6gb ram
Power supply 600W ACE PSUACE600BR Graphic card Asus AMD Radeon R5 230 Silent 2GB DDR3 Graphics Card
Soundcard Onboard sound
Case Zalman Z11+
Harddrive/s 1tb
CPU cooling 7 fans

I've checked the standoffs and they're fine, checked the pins on the processor socket and they are fine too.

But there's just nothing at all apart from the green light

If everything except the motherboard was working fine before, and the same parts are not working w/ the new motherboard, I'd typically suspect the motherboard. However, you also seem to be using a pretty basic PSU, which is always a bad idea. There could be some kind of voltage issue between the new motherboard and the PSU. The green light is just a standby power light. There could be some kind of issue where the system won't power up because something is wrong electrically. The motherboard may be trying to protect itself in a way. Since it's not powering up at all, and everything is plugged in correctly, the only way to tell I think would be with another PSU(a good idea anyways) or another motherboard. Any way to borrow one?
