Can we fix screen tearing without G-Sync?

I know v-sync is designed to stop screen tearing but it's more detrimental than helpful when playing an fps game.

Playing CS:GO is near impossible for me at this point because of the screen tearing issue. It was never bad enough to stop me from playing up until a few weeks ago. I've tried tons of different resolutions and video settings to try and fix the issue. I've tried capping the fps to my monitors refresh rate. Nothing has worked for me so far and I can't justify spending $500+ on a G-Sync of Free-Sync monitor. Also I should mention that CS:GO is the only game that gives me screen tearing. It hasn't happened once playing Shadows of Mordor on decently high settings, same goes with Skyrim and Killing Floor.

I'm open to trying just about any suggestions at this point.

You've already tried what's available which is:

1) VSYNC, or
2) cap FPS

It's odd that you suggest it was OKAY before "was never bad enough..." suggesting something has changed.

Screen tear ALWAYS happens if you are outputting a frame rate that is different from the rate your monitor supports. It's actually usually WORSE if the frame rate is a lot HIGHER. For example if you output 200FPS to a 60Hz monitor you'll have pieces of FOUR consecutive frames pieced together on the screen.

I should have explained it better that's my fault. I used to notice the tearing every few minutes and it never affected me playing the game. But now it happens almost constantly. Every time I turn in game, it even happens with small movements going around corners.

I've tried capping the fps to multiples on my refresh rate and so far it seems that 120 works the best.

I doubled check the refresh rate of my monitor while I was writing this and for whatever reason it was set to 59 instead of 60. I'm not sure how that happened but I feel dumb now.

what actually happen? does v-sync doesn't work or you just don't like v-sync i general?

It's not that I don't like v-sync, it's the input lag you get when it's on. Makes it hard to play fps games with it on.

Nothing likely changed but your perception of it, unless you changed monitors or refresh rate.

Tearing happens any time V-sync or G-sync is not on, when gaming. It doesn't matter if your FPS matches your refresh rate, it happens at all times. It is, however, far less noticeable when your refresh rate is higher. On a 120Hz monitor it is far less noticeable than on a 60hz monitor.

If something changed, either you stopped using V-sync, your changed your refresh rate, or maybe you are having another issue that is not tearing related, but looks similar (usually a bad cable).

You may also find that tearing is most noticeable when your FPS are steady at an even multiple of your refresh rate. 60hz monitors with 60 FPS, 120 FPS or 180 FPS... will look a lot worse than at 70 FPS, 130 FPS or 190 FPS. This is because when it is an even multiple of your refresh rate, those tears never move, and are more easily spotted.
